Eddy Merckx

Paul writes, "I have an interesting Merckx frame that I picked up on eBay and is an ongoing project. But a bike that is going to be ridden.  I have put a Merckx sl fork in it for the moment until I can get a Max fork. It says "Graner Design" on the top tube and this is under the clear coat, it also has pearl like dots which are not painted but stuck on but und er the clear coat. Everything is original on the frame with the number on the bb suggesting a 1992 build. Have you any ideas about this frame?"

Anyone familiar with Graner Design? Leave a comment or email me.

Note: subsequently updated with Max fork:

Langenberg

"Langenberg-Manufaktur is a small niche frame maker from central Germany specializing in Steel and Carbon frames. The frame is made of super stiff Columbus MAX steel tubes; the highest performance pro tube set of its day. It also features gorgeous Fillet-Brazing and Ritchey dropouts. The detailing on this frameset is incredible! It has and extremely unique 3 cable inner inner routing on the top-tube. The two shifting cables as well as the rear brake cable are routed through the top tube! The rear derailleur cable passes along the right hand seat stay, and the front derailleur cable uses a pulley mechanism along the seat tube!"
